A Private Food & Wine Tour in South Australia

Every private tour we design is different, and will depend upon your personal preferences.  You may wish to focus on a specific wine variety, or to gain a greater appreciation of a whole region.  You may choose to experience a range of quality food and wine producers, or just indulge in your cheese addiction.  We have designed experiences for guests who are only visiting for half a day, through to a multi-day food and wine extravaganzas across South Australia. From cult shiraz’s and native foods, to stinky cheeses and botrytis semillon’s, the choice is endless.  If you require we can provide a complete package, from accommodation, Adelaide Airport pickups, wine or food tours, winery visits and restaurant lunches. 

From Adelaide, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, or Adelaide Hills

Below is a sample of the bespoke tours we have designed for our other guests in Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, and McLaren Vale wine regions of South Australia.  All private tours include door to door pickup and return from your accommodation, all entrance fees, morning tea, a personal wine guide, wine tasting and other special experiences. In each custom designed tour our guests had sole use of our luxury vehicle.  A number of lunch options are available including; meals at five star wineries, or a relaxed picnic of the finest South Australian morsels.

As all private food and wine tours are individually designed pricing varies depending upon what is included. Tours can start from Adelaide or from the various regions - Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale. For six guests, most full day experiences start from $160 per person, excluding lunch.  It would be our pleasure to design a package for your specific desires.

Que Syrah Tour - from $250 per person

South Australia produces many super premium shiraz wines.  Penfold's “Grange” and Fox Creek “Reserve Shiraz” are but two of the State's internationally acclaimed treasures.

On this private tour Rich & Lingering uncovered for our guests a range of the finest shiraz wines in McLaren Vale region, including some of the well known super premium's labels and the regions unsung achievers.  In combination with these distinguished wineries, our guests also had the opportunity to gain insider access into the winemaking process with a back of house tour of a five star winery.

During this private tour our guests enjoyed a two course meal of the finest regional produce and wine from South Australia in the tranquil settings of a McLaren Vale vineyard.

Cool Climate Tour - from $190 per person

Adelaide Hills is higher in altitude, and generally cooler than other grape growing regions in South Australia. Penfolds Yattarna and Petaluma Tiers wines are the reference points for chardonnay.

This private tour provided for our guests an experience of the Adelaide Hills' premium food and wine producers.  Driving through the Adelaide Hills with picturesque vistas across lush valleys - through the sub-regions of Lenswood and Piccadilly Valley.  Our guests tasted some of the regions premium pinot noirs from Ashton Hills and Barratts wineries, and the luscious sauvignon blanc's from Shaw & Smith and Hahndorf Hill Winery.

A Blend of The Barossa Tour - from $255 per person

This is an experience with a difference.  A full day private tour of Barossa Valley where our guests can visit boutique wineries which produce world famous Barossa Shiraz.

In the afternoon, you will be able to encounter an experience which is the first of its kind in the Barossa Valley. Following a tour of the Penfold’s winery and cellars, guests are invited to the winemaker’s laboratory to try their hand at making their own blend of Grenache, Shiraz, and Mouvedre. Guests will be able to take their wine home in a personalised bottle, and also receive a 20% discount on any Penfold’s wines purchased.

To complete the day you can visit another of the wineries which produce internationally celebrated wines.

Blessed Are The Cheesemakers Tour - from $205 per person    

This is the private cheese trail based in Adelaide Hills for those who have a serious cheese addiction.  With Rich & Lingering our guests visited multi-award winning cheese makers to savoured the delights of fresh goats milk cheeses, and cows milk cheese. You can also indulge in some cheese and wine matching.
